Just in time for Christmas....
Here is a mechanical toy snowman from the 50s (that is a guess). We recived the little guy from our wonderful Grandmother who has had it this whole time. He is battery operated. When on he moves his head and arm holding the broom. The little styrofoam ball on top (a replacement) is suppose to float above his hat. That part doesn't work so hot. It generally just drops the ball on the floor. Oh well, he is still cool.
We have his original gold box. But little is known about this guy. I know that he was made by Japanese toy company. I have seen 2 more of these guys in local antique shops go for as much as $120 with no box. Granted... this little fella needs a cleaning. Maybe we will give him attention before putting him away for the season.
