These are beautiful, but it's just as well you did not get them; old appliances are pretty, but they are really inefficient and use like 4 times as much energy as modern appliances. I always wish that someone would make modern appliances and just make them in a retro style.....then I found out that folks do (Elmira, etc.) but they CHARGE 4 times as much as for a regular appliance. Sigh.....
That is a GREAT price! I've been perusing craigslist and drooling over what I have no intentions of buying, as well. torture. :)
I'd go for these, no question. SO they may use more energy but lets be honest how many people use appliances of this age? You got to look at the big picture here. Plus you're recycling by reusing them instead of buying new... think of the energy/materials used in the making of the new efficient stuff.
Id get them...my fridge is Going Going Gone...and even an older one would work for me at the moment. plus its rockin!
Why can't we ever find anything like this, and reasonable, where we live ?!
